Out of Office Creative Residency is an invitation to make that space. Come with an idea, a question, or a little curiosity. Together, we’ll shape an experience around what you’d like to explore, with time to create, discover, and find your own rhythm.
There’s no set theme, prescribed medium, or expectation to produce a finished piece. You decide where your curiosity takes you.

Before you arrive, we’ll talk about your practice, your interests, and what you’re hoping to get out of your stay. From there, I’ll curate a bespoke creative menu just for you.
For a chef, that might mean sourcing spices and discovering local ingredients. For a painter, visiting galleries and meeting other artists. For a photographer, exploring locations and making connections that could help bring a shoot to life.
I’ll join you for two meetups each week. One is an outing I’ll curate around your interests, exploring the people, places, or practices connected to what you’re creating. The other is a creative conversation at the residency. A chance to share ideas, reflect on your practice, or explore something together.
The rest of your time is yours to find your own rhythm.
how we got here.
Across six editions of Out of Office Creative Retreats over the past three years, that space for creativity has been at the heart of every gathering. Along the way, I kept hearing a recurring desire from the women who joined me: to stay longer in Morocco and continue that creative flow.
There was a desire to keep exploring Morocco, follow an idea, and spend more time creating. But there were also questions. Where would I stay? Who could I connect with? Where would I begin?
That desire stayed with me.
I felt something similar when looking for an artist residency myself. As a producer working on a documentary, I struggled to fit the usual criteria. I wanted space to create, but my practice didn’t always fit the categories.
This residency grew from both experiences. A place that welcomes different ways of creating, with the time, space, and personal connections to explore them.
For now, I’m pausing the retreats to give this new chapter the time and care it needs to grow.

I’m an Egyptian-Canadian multidisciplinary creative and the founder of Out of Office and your creative connection to Morocco.
Connecting people, shaping experiences, and bringing ideas to life have always been part of my work. Here, I get to bring those things together around your creative practice. I’ll share the people, places, and possibilities that speak to your interests - and help you find your own way into Morocco.
My own experience of spending a month in a creative residency helped me reconnect with my creativity and made me want to create that opportunity for others.
With a background in production, filmmaking, silversmithing, and bringing people together, I love finding the connections that make an experience feel personal.
